We focus on discovering human monoclonal antibodies for therapeutic or vaccine development using the proprietary I-STAR™ technology that differentiates from other technologies by its success in isolating rare antibodies from the memory B cell repertoire (Walker LM et al, 2009, Science, 326:285-9).
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Ph. D level scientist to join our efforts in discovering novel monoclonal antibodies. Research experience in virology and infectious disease is a must and previous employment in the biotech industry is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual who also has an extensive knowledge of antibody screening strategies and who can design and execute high-throughput antibody binding and functional assays for the discovery and characterization of therapeutic antibody leads. An acute aptitude to quickly learn, develop and implement new techniques, to expand knowledge in areas of biology, and the proven ability to work in a dynamic fast-moving matrix organization is a must. In addition to being a hands-on expert in the areas of research interest, the successful candidate will also have a track record of conceptualizing, planning and delivering as a team member and project leader on research projects and programs in order to successfully contribute to the growth and advancement of the R&D pipeline at Theraclone.
Qualification Requirements:
- Ph.D. in immunology, virology, microbiology or a similar discipline with at least 3 years of post-doctoral experience.
Broad and in-depth knowledge in infectious disease and the development of monoclonal antibodies as therapeutics.
Experienced in developing antibody screening assays.
- Self-motivated, proactive and collaborative team member.
- Highly organized in data presentation and record keeping.
- Strong oral communication and writing skills.
